Wangmo county in Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture played host to a fishing contest on Oct 28.
More than 500 participants from Beijing, Chongqing, Yunnan and other parts of the country took part in the five-day event.
The competition took place along the Hongshui River in Shuxiang town. The waters cover approximately 85,000 mu (5,667 hectares) and stretch for 148 kilometers.
With its favorable climate and fresh air, the town has come to be known as a “natural oxygen bar” and “natural greenhouse”. It is also a fishing resort for fishing enthusiasts.
The annual fishing contest was first inaugurated in 2012.
