The press conference for the Sixth China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverage Expo was held in Beijing on Aug 29.
At the conference, Lu Yongzheng, vice-governor of Guizhou, revealed that the expo will be held from Sept 9 to 12 in Guiyang. The exhibition area will cover an area of 90,000 square meters, an increase of 30 percent on last year. Approximately 2,000 different brands of alcohol from 40 countries, such as China’s Wuliangye and Chateau Lafite Rothschild of France, are expected to display their products.
In partnership with Ping’an Bank, the expo has set up a foundation to help improve the infrastructure for the manufacturing of spirits such as Chinese bai jiu, and to invest in the fields of merger and acquisition, financial services and the asset securitization of alcohol products.
The foundation will hold an International Alcoholic Beverage Carnival from Sept 1 to 12, aimed at displaying China’s long traditions involving alcoholic drink, and creating a communication platform for wine businesses from different countries.
