The Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Forum on Silk Road Cooperation opened in Lanzhou on May 28, 2014, Gansu province, China.

Sponsored by the Chinese Foreign Ministry and People’s Government of Gansu Province, the forum will focus on the subject of “Revitalize the Silk Road, Build the new Asia Economic Pattern”. During the forum, senior officials from the 33 member states discussed infrastructure, energy sources, environmental protection, business and cultural tourism cooperation. As the sponsor, officials of Gansu showed Gansu’s economic and social achievements to guests, Silk Road in Gansu Section, and shared experiences in economic and social development with other countries.

ACD is the only collective dialogue and cooperation mechanism for Asia Pacific region government, which is advocated by Thailand since 2002. Non-institutionalization and informal negotiations are the main features of ACD. Currently, there are 33 member states in ACD, including 10 ASEAN nations, China, Japanese, Korea, and India.
