Two office buildings at a customs checkpoint in Pingtan seemed to be wrapped in Chinese national flags on the night of April 7, due to the effect of thousands of colorful LED lamps.

The customs authority has ordered to install 140,000 such lamps on the buildings and roads near the Haixia Bridge, which connects Pingtan Island and the mainland of Fujian province.

The lamps are currently on trial operation and will create a refreshing visual experience, according to an engineer.
