An exhibition featuring more than 100 painting and calligraphy works by 22 artists from across the Taiwan Straits was staged in Pingtan, Fujian province on Dec 19.

The six-day exhibition attracted a bunch of famous calligraphers and painters including Li Qimao, Ou Haonian, Li Gumo, Su Fengnan and Luo Zhenxian from Taiwan, and Lin Jian, Chen Chuliang, Jiang Pingchou and Zhang Yonghai from the Chinese mainland.

The topics of the splendid painting masterpieces ranged from animals to landscapes and human beings.

Min (Fujian) culture plays a pivotal role in cross-Straits cultural history; and the exhibition is a platform for cross-Straits cultural communication and innovation, said Jiang Pingchou, vice chairman of the Fujian Calligraphers’ Association.
