More than 60,000 students returned to school in Pingtan county on Feb 17, the first day of the new semester.

There are 27,126 registered primary school students, 23,697 middle school students and 12,272 kindergarten students in the county, according to education authorities.

The local traffic control department carried out additional road patrols to maintain safety amid the increased traffic flow.
