A team from Pingtan No 1 Middle School has won first place at the VEX robotics competition of the Taiwan Qualification of the Asian Robotics Tournament in New Taipei City, Taiwan.

The innovation lab of Pingtan No 1 Middle School sent four teams to the competition, and the winning team included members from a Taiwan middle school, taking the crown after beating 56 opponents.

The other three teams representing Pingtan also did well, with one team claiming third place, and the other two tying for fourth place.

Last year, a Pingtan team won this event at the final in New Zealand.
