Chinese President Xi Jinping's early Nov inspection of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) in Fujian province has triggered a visiting spree from many big banks.

The Fujian Branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) was the latest example, as Zhu Chunhua, the Bank's chief, led a delegation to Pingtan to meet with local officials.

Pingtan is in a key phase of economic transformation. It has come up with six major action plans, set up a couple of platforms for investment and financing, and opened an office responsible for facilitating business registration for non-local companies, explained Li Dejin, PCPZ's administrative committee.

Pingtan's development needs support from ICBC. And it hopes to become strategic partners with the Bank and collaborate in financing, and professional cultivation.

ICBC has plenty of confidence in Pingtan's future, and will definitely assist Pingtan to create a sound financing environment for enterprises, said Zhu.
