In Nantou county in the morning, You toured Sun Moon Lake, a well-known scenic resort in Taiwan, and met with local tourism professionals to learn about the development of the industry.

He then dropped by a teahouse in Yuchi township, got a taste of the special snacks, and even spent NT$550 ($18.38) on buying tea and pineapple cakes.

You and his entourage visited descendants of the Hong clan in Caotun township in the afternoon, where he gave a lot of credit to their perseverance and dedication, and wished that they continue to promote and pass on their cultural legacies in Taiwan.

Driven by a tight schedule, You then travelled to the city of Taichung and met with Vice-Mayor Jason Hu.

You said he hopes his “family and friendship visit” to Taiwan will boost bilateral investment and trade.

Jason welcomed You’s visit, and said he is looking forward to seeing cross-Straits ties thrive.
