Vice President Li Jiange meets with ADB chief economist

On August 10th, 2007, Mr. Li Jiange, Vice President of DRC, met with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) delegation headed by its Chief Economist Mr. Ifzal Ali. Mr. Ali briefed Mr. Li about an ongoing ADB-sponsored research program on poverty reduction in Asia. The two sides also exchanged views on building a harmonious society, reducing regional and income gaps and food and drug safety. Ms Sun Lanlan, Director General of International Cooperation Dept. of DRC, exchanged views with the delegation on how to further strengthen cooperation between the two organizations. Mr. Toru Shibuichi, Country Director of PRC Resident Mission of ADB and Mr. Zhang Hongfei, Program Officer of International Cooperation Dept. of DRC were present at the meeting.
