Hasselt recently successfully implanted a 3D printed mandible in an 83 years old woman. It is the first time in the world that a custom-made material was used to replace the whole mandible. The 3D printed mandible weight around 107g, only 30g heavier than a real one. Therefore it is very suitable for patients to use.
