Hongqi, China's iconic car brand which is built by the major auto company FAW Group, released its sales targets on June 10, during a press conference held in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

According to the announcement, the company, based in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, is expected to sell more than 1 million vehicles in 2025.

In 2020, a total of 200,000 Hongqi cars were sold.

During the first five months of this year, the number stood at 120,000, a year-on-year growth of 116.2 percent. It is expected that a total of 400,000 Hongqi cars will be sold during the current year.

In 2020, the value of the Hongqi brand reached 80.4 billion yuan ($12.52 billion).
