Ministry of Culture announced in Beijing on Sept 28 to launch a selective examination on China's online computer game operators.

According to Liu Qing, deputy director of cultural market department under the ministry, 50 operators were randomly selected for direct examination of the ministry, while 150 others will face examination from local administrations in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou.

Main target of the examination is to check whether the games and relevant promotion channels include illegal contents, whether their imported games have licenses, whether they have complete registry procedure in cultural administrations, and whether they have established real name system for users in their backstage.

The examination will be extended to online music and online live broadcast later, Liu said.
