October is the month that Macao welcomes the world's musicians to grace its stage. The 26th Macao International Music Festival sees a total of 23 performances ranging from jazz to opera. Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, shows are held across the city's historic venues including Dom Pedro V Theater and Mount Fortress as well as Macao Cultural Center. Still up for grabs are tickets to hear Italian chanteuse Dolceneara on Oct 22 and Austria's folk-jazz Georg Gratzer and Beefolk on Nov 2. In addition, Chinese mainland band Haya from Inner Mongolia presents the World Heritage listed technique of throat singing and horse head fiddling on Nov 4.
