According to Xiamen tourism departments, Gulangyu Island, which is also called Music Island and Piano Island, will launch family concerts, piano music exhibitions, classical music shows and other tourism projects to show off the island’s music accumulation and further cultivate it into an “island of music culture”.

Western classical piano music shows held by the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Education and the National Centre for the Performing Arts will also be settled down on Gulangyu Island in 2012.

To add the feeling of romance and softness and Combined with the island's musical culture, wedding hall, honeymoon hotel, wishing pool and other wedding items will also be established on this island. The combination of historic Southern Fujian culture and modern western music forms the unique culture on the Island.
