Renowned writer, scholar and painter Feng Jicai from Tianjin is staging his first solo show in decades at the museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy.

On view are more than 80 ink paintings and sketches, along with some 160 books, pictorials and textbooks about Chinese cultural heritages, which the 70-year-old has written or compiled over the past years.

Feng is noted for popular novels such as Magic Whip, and Golden Lotus Feet, and nonfiction work The Life of 100 Chinese in 100 Years as well as his decades-long efforts to protect vanishing cultural heritages.
