Large Medium SmallThe 100-plus musicians of the National Youth Orchestra of Germany come to Shanghai with repertoires covering Mahler's Totenfeier for orchestra and Schumann's Cellokonzert. The Swiss-born conductor Mario Venzago is in his 18th season as music director of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in the US.
Nicolas Alstaedt, the cellist, was awarded the Credit Suisse Young Artists Award in 2010.
