YICHANG - At least 14 people are missing after a ship used for transporting vehicles capsized Wednesday morning in central China's Hubei Province.

The accident occurred after Qingjiang No.8, the ship, docked in a reservoir area in Shuibuya Town, Badong County, at around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the county's information office.

It capsized right after two of the 16 trucks on board rolled off, and 14 trucks fell into the water, said Ouyang Kaiping, spokesman of the office.

Thirteen people have been rescued. At least 14 others, including drivers and passengers on six trucks as well as four sailors, were still missing as of 8 p.m. Wednesday, Ouyang said.

Mao Jinke, a survivor, said he broke the truck window to escape and was dragged to the shore by rescuers.

Rescuers were still searching for the missing people, and the cause of the accident was under investigation, Ouyang said.
