The old practice of "determining a student's fate by one entrance exam" will be changed to promote quality education and innovation, according to a national education plan for the next decade published Thursday, Xinhua reported. "The Outline of China's National Plan for Medium and Long-Term Education Reform and Development (2010-2020)" said the strategic goals to be attained by 2020 are to modernize education; shape a learning society; and turn China into a country rich in human resources. |
