我聽(tīng)了后怕不已,連忙問(wèn)她后來(lái)如何脫身的。她嘆了口氣說(shuō):“After struggling with the police for half an hour, the robber was caught red-handed at last.”聽(tīng)到“red-handed”我不禁心驚肉跳,腦中聯(lián)想到的是“滿手鮮血”的歹徒,于是問(wèn)她有多少人被劫匪傷害。
Carmen不明所以的回答說(shuō)沒(méi)有人在劫案中受傷。我不禁納悶,反問(wèn)她如果沒(méi)有人受傷問(wèn)什么匪徒的雙手會(huì)是紅的呢? Carmen 恍然大悟、笑哈哈的向我解釋說(shuō):“Caught red-handed 是當(dāng)場(chǎng)被捕的意思,并非你所想的滿手鮮血那么可怕。”
