At least four car bomb blasts outside police stations in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Thursday caused many casualties, police said.

A hospital official in Mosul says at least 50 people have died after the series of car bombings.

Police said the blasts, which coincided with coordinated attacks elsewhere in Iraq, may have been suicide attacks.
