Journalists gather in Zhejiang

About 100 journalists from home and abroad gather Sunday in Hangzhou, East
China's Zhejiang Province to kickstart a media program aimed at promoting
Zhejiang in China and the world.
Liang Pingbo, Vice-Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee for the
Communist Party of China, extended warm welcome to the journalists from HK,
Macao special administrative regions, Taiwan Province, and 16 countries,
including the U.S., Russia, Italy, Japan and Germany.
Liang also briefed the guests on the basic situations of the province, one of
China's economic powerhouses.
In the next seven days, the journalists will be divided into five groups,
visiting different parts of the province and seeing with their own eyes what
Zhejiang is like after 25 years reform and opening to the outside world.
On October 17, the journalists will meet in Hangzhou again to take part in
the opening ceremony of the West Lake Expo.
