Head beggar beats deputy to death

The head of a group of
beggars in Dalian was sentenced to death for killing the group's deputy head
over money, reports New Business.
Song Zhanguo, who led a number of destitute teenagers to beg or steal near
Dalian Railway Station, left the group's financial affairs to his
second-in-command, Zhang Wei, in March 2001 when he was called away for a time.
When he returned to ask Zhang for the money he was supposed to have collected
from the group members, Zhang refused to hand all of it over. Song then attacked
and beat him about the head with a pickaxe. Zhang later died in hospital of his
wounds.
