The first Musical Festival of Golden Island in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, will be staged by the local government on March 8.

Three groups of singers and dancers from home and abroad will tour 12 cities in the country for 20 days, including Beijing and Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province. They will perform the Hainan-style songs and dances on trucks decorated in typical Hainan style.

There will be a star-studded gala in Haikou from March 30 to April 1, with daytime activities including cosplay, hip-hop performances and skateboard shows.
