Ministry wants talks

China Daily | Updated: 2013-01-31 07:25

A Foreign Ministry spokesman on Wednesday called on the Syrian government and the opposition to launch political talks as soon as possible.

"China is positive and open to any solution as long as it is widely accepted by all parties in Syria," spokesman Hong Lei said at a daily news briefing.

China also urged the Syrian government and the opposition to carry out a political transition process in accordance with principles established in the Geneva Communique issued by the Action Group for Syria.
