Peking University has no right to ask visitors to swipe their ID cards before entering the campus, says an article on the website www.china.com.cn. The following is an excerpt:

With the start of the new semester, Peking University has kicked off a new system that requires visitors to swipe their ID cards in a machine before entering the campus.

Though it may seem the university has progressed from the old hand-written method of visitor registration to a more chick and technologically enhanced system, it invades our right to privacy in a way.
