Yang carries monkeys on his shoulders. As time passes, the monkey circus trade has been changing. In 2009, the monkey show in Xinye was included on the list of "Henan provincial intangible cultural heritage" . To make the show sustainable, the local authorities want the show to be transferred to scenic spots or zoos or to be transformed through cooperation with advertisement companies.
