日前，中國青年報社會調查中心通過手機騰訊網，對5109人進行的一項調查顯示，71.2%的受訪者贊成取消領導專車。

《中國青年報》的調查顯示，“公車私用”和“私車消費公家報銷”是最普遍的公車腐敗現象。

“公車腐敗”可用corruption involving government vehicles或者corruption in use of government vehicles表示，具體的表現形式包括：公車私用（government cars used for private purpose）、私車消費公家報銷（reimbursement of private car expenses）、公車照坐，車補照發（irregular subsidies）、公車浪費（waste involving government vehicles）、公車采購追求豪華（purchase of excessively luxurious cars）以及公車數量超標（an excessive number of government vehicles）等。

為了杜絕公車腐敗，不少地方政府已經推出了相關政策，比如為公車配備GPS追蹤系統（Global Positioning Systems (GPS) devices），或者推行公車有償使用政策等，以進一步規范公車使用（to standardize the use of government vehicles）。
