Special coverage:Files shed new light on Japanese atrocities


Ten relevant files are released this time. During the 40 years from 1905 to 1945, alongside its military invasion of China, the Japanese government carried out immigration to Northeast China in a planned, organized and step-by-step manner, in an attempt to change the demographic structure of the area and curb the anti-Japanese activities of the people in Northeast China.

The contents of these archives mainly include:

Information on the purchase of land for “exploration” and military purposes and grievances of the local farmers;

Information on the purchase of land in Huinan by Japanese immigrants;

Information on the land purchase by the “exploration unit” and the strong opposition by the local villagers;

Information on the shooting of local villagers by the “exploration unit” with police rifles;

Sketch map of the land use of the 5th batch of Japanese immigrants, and sketch map and distribution map of Chaoyangtun and Yongantun immigration units; and

General table of the status quo of group immigrants.
