The Guangdong Health and Family Planning Commission confirmed on Monday two cases of human infection of the H7N9 bird flu virus in Guangzhou and Yangjiang, bringing the total number of such cases in the province to eight.
Both new patients were male and in critical condition.
The 47-year-old Guangzhou patient sold and transported poultry in Foshan. The patient in Yangjiang is 71.
People who had close contact with them did not have the virus.
