Police detain journalist over rumor fabrication

BEIJING - Beijing police on Sunday confirmed that a journalist has been detained on suspicion of fabricating rumors.
A journalist surnamed Liu with the Xin Kuai Bao newspaper has been held by police as he is suspected of fabricating and spreading rumors, said the press office of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau on its microblog on the Twitter-like Sina Weibo.
The case is under further investigation, although Beijing police did not release detailed information.
