From September 29 to October 3, 1927, Mao Zedong led the famous "Sanwan Reorganization" at Sanwan village in Yongxin county, Jiangxi Province. He created a new strategy of running the army, based on principles like "the Party commands the gun", "the Party branch is organized on a company basis", "officers and men receive equal treatment".
