BEIJING - China's largest airline by fleet-size China Southern Airlines said it plans to increase flight services to Lhasa, capital of Tibet autonomous region, via the city of Chongqing from the current four times a day to at least 10 times a day by 2015.

The airline said it aims to deploy about 70 aircraft to fly the route, turning Chongqing into a second commuting hub for flights in and out of Tibet. The southwestern city of Chengdu nearby Chongqing is the current major stopover point for Tibet flights.

China Southern Airlines said it has 19 aircraft capable of flying on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. Currently, seven airlines fly 19 routes to five destinations in Tibet.
