A sample survey also indicated no abnormality in drinking water, it said.

In its previous notices, the committee has noted that no protective measures need to be taken against contamination from these materials.

No obvious changes had been observed in the situation concerning on-site radiation of the quake-damaged Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in Japan, the committee's notice said, quoting a report from the International Atomic Energy Agency on Saturday.

The IAEA was quoted as saying that Japan is continuing its efforts to ease the situation, including decelerating the spreading of radioactive waste water into the Pacific Ocean by placing temporary dash plates.
