Beijing will pilot closed-end management in villages where floating population is larger than resident population, in a bid to maintain a good social order as well as to lower crime rates in village, the Beijing News reported Monday.

Local police will cooperate with the government in constructing bounding walls, street gates and close off hardly used crossings, and will issue permits to residents and their vehicles allowing them entrance into the community-like villages.

The police will set up village management centers to integrate the functions of the community police, floating population administration office and patrol office, as well as offices to solve disputes in the villages.

Surveillance cameras will also be installed in these villages to tighten local social security.

A team of 250 full-time watchmen have finished their training and were dispatched to work in local police stations on Sunday in Beijing's Daxing district where 92 of its villages have bigger floating population than resident population.
