The magazine authorities approved Hu's resignation and expressed thanks for her contribution to the magazine.

Resignation request from deputy editor-in-chief Dai Xiaojing was also approved, according to Zhang.

The latest issue of Caijing on November 9 carried Hu's commentary on the country's start-up board for small and medium-sized enterprises to raise capital, or China's Nasdaq.

Hu, 56 years old, had worked as editor-in-chief of Caijing since it was founded in 1998.
