Divorcing couple's relatives haggle over furniture

Updated: 2009-02-21 08:02 After Zhang and Li filed for divorce in Longkou, Shandong province, they then had to figure out how to divide up the furniture and other property. But suddenly one morning this month, the woman and 20 of her relatives turned up to Zhang's home and tried to remove all the furniture by force. Zhang then asked 10 of his own relatives to guard his door with iron bars so that Li and her relatives could not take anything. Police, village officials and others negotiated and after three hours, the two agreed they should discuss the issue amicably. (Qilu Evening News) |
