Govts asked to check expenditure

The Ministry of Finance Thursday asked governments at all levels to restrict their expenditure on administrative necessities such as car purchase, meetings, receptions and overseas travels to last year's levels.

The move is aimed at coping with the rising fiscal pressure because of a global economic slowdown.
