Doctors praise herbalist treating own cancer

A middle-aged man in Beijing has been treating his skin cancer by gathering medicinal herbs for more than 10 years, and his condition seems to be well controlled.

Ten years ago, the condition of the patient, surnamed Yan, was so helpless that the hospital sent him home.

But his father, a senior herbal doctor, has refused to give up helping him by making a medicine with herbs at home.

Touched by his father's love, the patient began gathering herbs for himself, making medicine and treating himself.

Doctors at a hospital praised his efforts after giving him a checkup on Wednesday.
