Official calls for building harmonious culture(Xinhua)Updated: 2006-11-06 21:53 Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has called for recognizing the importance of building a harmonious culture, which was proposed by the recent Sixth Plenary Session of the Sixteenth CPC Central Committee. Liu, member of the Politcal Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, remarked this during his study tour in east China's Zhejiang Province, on Nov. 3-5. He explained that the so-called "harmonious culture" is a kind of cultural spirit and concept that worships and pursues harmony. He called on the whole society to foster the spirit and advocate the concept, so as to face problems in a harmonious attitude and handle contradictions in a harmonious way. The ethics of being patriotic, hard-working, faithful and credible, and friendly should be advocated among the public, in an effort to let everyone be responsible for promoting a harmonious society and share its fruits, the official said. The kernel value of socialism is the soul for socialist system and the base for building a harmonious culture, he said. |
