Cat leaves boy ill for months

A 9-year-old boy named Xiao Gang who has suffered from low fever and swollen lymph nodes for months was recently told the ailment resulted from close contact with his pet cat.

Xiao is said to have very close contact with his cat, to the extent that he cannot get to sleep if it is not in bed with him. The cat is said to have scratched him once, three months ago.

Doctors from a hospital in the city of Foshan in Guangdong Province made the diagnosis. Xiao is now recovering after the cat was kept away from him.
