Experts have predicted great potential for singles-related industries in Guangdong Province in the years ahead.

Their forecast came after the province is experiencing a big gender imbalance: about 130 boys to 100 girls at birth in recent years.

And by the end of 2010, the gap for brides will reach more than 20 per cent in the southern Chinese province, meaning more than 10 per cent of Cantonese men will have difficulty seeking a spouse.

Currently, a large number of special clubs, cinemas, beauty salons, psychiatric consulting centres and restaurants for singles have been established in Guangzhou. And the business of singles venues has become brisk in recent years.
