China-Russia scientific co-op benefits both - official

BEIJING -- Cooperation between China and Russia in science and technology can
benefit both nations, said Vice Minister of Science and Technology Ma Songde on
Tuesday.
"China and Russia have witnessed continued cooperation in science and
technology and the two governments have outlined many projects on scientific and
technological cooperation concerning energy, information, biology and
materials," Ma said during online discussions with netizens on the official Year
of Russia in China website .
Russia enjoys advanced technology in aerospace and China has established a
comprehensive scientific research system in this sphere. Meanwhile, China has
its advantage in information technology.
Ma is also promoting activities between the two countries which include
academic exchanges, scientific and technological exhibitions and personnel
exchanges, especially communications between the young scientists of both
nations.
"These activities will play a positive role in promoting the scientific and
technological cooperation between China and Russia," Ma noted.
