Typhoon to bring Beijing longest sauna days

Beijing is expected to embrace the longest "sauna" days in the summer as
Typhoon Prapiroon makes landfall in South China's Hainan Island, Beijing Morning
News reported.
The hot, humid days will start from the weekend and last until August 9, the
report quoted China's national observatory officials as saying.
During the period, the highest temperature will reach 32-33℃ (89.6 - 91.4oF),
and relative air humility will be 70%-85%.
Typhoon Prapiroon is steadily gathering strength while churning across the
South China Sea from the Philippines and is expected to make landfall between
Thursday night and Friday. Forecasters warned of possible severe destruction to
parts of southern China.
All fishing boats have been ordered in to port and rescue teams told to
prepare for flooding and landslides.
Prapiroon will also push a sub-tropical high-pressure belt north to the
Chinese capital, resulting in the sauna days.
Before Prapiroon comes, most of the sauna days last just one or two days
before interrupted by rainfalls, experts said.
