Man claims ATM gave fake notes

A Shanghai man posted a notice on the door of a bank on Monday, to find out
if there were others who withdrew fake notes from the bank's ATM machine like he
did on July 8.
Yuan said he withdrew eight notes with a face value of 100 yuan (US$12.3)
from the ATM. Of them, seven were found with the same serial numbers. Yuan said
he did not touch the notes before using them in a supermarket.
Worse still, all seven notes passed the scrutiny of the fake currency checker
in the bank on Monday.
A bank official said the bank was not at fault as no one could prove that the
fake bank notes were from the ATM machine as the incident had occurred two weeks
ago.
