Hong Kong stocks close up 3.6% on Monday

Hong Kong stocks widened their gains to close at 12,976.71 on Monday, up 450.91 points, or 3.6 percent.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index widened its gains sharply in the last hour and even added to its gains further in the closing auction session, as turnover rose to HK$46.70 billion ($5.99 billion) from Friday's HK$43.93 billion.

Market heavyweight HSBC was among the top gainers, rising 4.58 percent to HK$40, while Chinese mainland telecommunications giant China Mobile advanced HK$1.85, or 2.73 percent, to close at HK$69.55.

Blue-chip electronics share Foxconn International was the biggest gainer, leaping HK$0.38, or 15.39 percent, to close at HK$2.85.
