Light Industry: Yue Yuen's revenue up 3.1%

Yue Yuen Industrial (Holdings) Ltd., the world's top athletic footwear
manufacturer, said its June net consolidated operating revenue was US$347.51
million, up 3.1 percent from May's US$337.19 million.
Yue Yuen, in a statement issued yesterday, gave no year-earlier comparison.
The company's June net consolidated sales to its Taiwan parent, Pou Chen Corp.,
fell 10.2 percent to US$1.68 million from US$1.87 million in May. Yue Yuen,
which makes shoes for brands like Nike and Reebok, is stepping up its retail
business and expects sales from that sector to grow by 30 percent to 40 percent
on the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan in 2006.
