IT: IT firms' profit up

China's information technology firms posted a combined profit of 45.1 billion
yuan (US$5.6 billion) in the first five months, a 34 percent growth year-on-year
and 8.5 percentage points higher than the national industry profit annual growth
rate, according to the Ministry of Information Industry.
Domestic handset firms raised exports in the first five months as TCL, AMOI
and Lenovo Mobile's phone exports jumped 250 percent year-on-year, said
MII.
