Chinese firms seek collaborative expansion for global success
Shanghai enterprises are embracing collaborative strategies for global expansion amid complex international markets, according to business leaders participating in the Overseas Investment Fair (OIF) 2026.
"We're no longer in an era of solo expeditions for Chinese companies going global," said Chen Chao, general manager of Shanghai international technology market, whose organization showcased InnoMatch, a technology-matching platform covering industries across multiple countries.
Chen emphasized that authoritative support platforms and events like OIF have helped enterprises overcome early-stage hurdles, including information asymmetry, trust barriers, and cross-border compliance, by significantly reducing costs associated with resource matching and regulatory adherence.
The fair attracted diverse businesses, including Shanghai future bianque intelligent technology co ltd, which showcased AI health monitoring rings alongside traditional Chinese medicine bracelets that have found markets in several nations.
"By leveraging integrated service platforms in Shanghai, we can see the world without leaving home. Accessing firsthand information and getting professional aid offers tremendous value," said company Chairman Zhou Zhou.
Zhang Songsong, contractual partner at Llinks Law Offices, explained their tailored approach to supporting overseas ventures. "For specialized SMEs with unique technologies, we focus on intellectual property protection. For general SMEs, we've established standardized legal service modules through our global network to address their diverse operational challenges."
Yan Lei, CEO of Shanghai leaderstone consulting, highlighted that Shanghai's manufacturing firms have progressed from simple exports to systematic operations.
"Shanghai has become one of the brand origins of high-end Chinese manufacturing," Yan said. "We are witnessing the increasing technological content of Made in China, and we are committed to supporting this global expansion with our more precise services."
