Sany sees opportunity in global shifts and tech advances
Global shifts and fast-evolving technologies are opening up new opportunities for industrial companies, a business executive said.
Xiang Wenbo, rotating chairman of Sany Group, said on the sidelines of the China Development Forum 2026 that the company sees global changes as an opportunity for growth rather than a source of risk.
"We want to be the one sitting at the table, not the one on the menu," he said.
Xiang said Sany has mapped out a strategy centered on globalization, digitalization and decarbonization to capture emerging opportunities brought by changes in the global landscape and the rapid evolution of technology.
He said digitalization is at the core of Sany's strategy and is being pursued in three areas: manufacturing, business operations and products.
"In manufacturing, we have already seen initial results," he said, adding that all three lighthouse factories in the equipment manufacturing sector belong to Sany.
He said the company is also moving business operations online and using big data and machine-based decision-making to improve efficiency, reshape workflows and provide better services.
On the product side, Xiang said Sany is continuing to raise the intelligence level of its equipment with the goal of achieving unmanned operations.
He also said the company is stepping up its presence in new energy sectors including wind power, photovoltaics, hydrogen and energy storage, while accelerating the electrification of traditional construction machinery and promoting greener mining solutions.
"We are very willing to work with others to seize the opportunities in China and embrace this new era, which is full of uncertainty but also full of possibilities," he said.
